Order requests

When you press Send order request we record the details you enter (contact name, company, email, phone, delivery address and postcode, optional account reference and notes) together with the products, quantities and prices in your basket. We use them to deal with your order request: Colton contacts you to confirm price, availability and delivery.

The request is stored by our website host (Netlify) and emailed to sales@coltonjef.co.uk using Google's email service. We do not send you a copy by email and we do not use your details for marketing. Order requests are kept as part of Colton's business records. Netlify and Google may store this data outside the UK under their standard data-protection terms.

Details remembered on this device

To save you typing them again, this website keeps your contact and delivery details and account reference (not your basket or notes) in your browser's local storage on this device only. They are not sent anywhere until you send an order request. You can remove them at any time:

Anonymous search statistics

Why: we count how our product search is used, only to improve the search and our product range (for example, to see what people look for and cannot find).

What we count, on this website only:

• searches you submit with Enter or the Search button (the words, up to 80 characters, and how many products were found) — not what you type before submitting;
• clicks on a product in the search results, and products added to the basket.

How: first-party only — no cookies, no third-party analytics, no advertising, no profiling. We do not record your IP address, browser details or where you came from, and we do not fingerprint devices. To tell whether a search led to a product being added, each page view gets a random number that exists only in the open page; it is never stored on your device and is forgotten when you close or reload the page. These statistics are never linked to order requests.

How long: the per-visit records are turned into daily totals (for example "12 searches for cement on 9 October") and then deleted — normally the next day and in any case within 48 hours. The daily totals contain no visitor identifiers and are kept for 12 months, then deleted.

Your choice: statistics are on unless you turn them off. Turning them off stops collection straight away, on this browser, and discards anything not yet sent; you can turn them back on at any time. Your choice is remembered in this browser only so that it is respected. If your browser sends a "Global Privacy Control" or "Do Not Track" signal we treat that as an objection too.
